DAY 1 / Saturday 18 October
1200 Meet at the official meeting point (see logo) in Terminal 3 - in the seated area in the arrivals hall (ground floor of the arrivals building).
1215 Check-in at Egypt Air desk
1500 Depart Heathrow Terminal 3 - Flight MS 778
2045 Arrive Cairo International Airport (Terminal 1) – met by representative from Carlson Wagonlit
2200 Check into Golden Tulip Flamenco Hotel, Zamalek
DAY 2 / Sunday 19 October
8.30 – 9.30 Breakfast and introduction to programme
10.00 – 11.30 Meet with Egyptian crafts expert Shahira Mehrez at her showroom, Dokki
12.00 -13.00 Meet with Noha Zayed, Managing Partner ZAFIR TSHIRTS, Zamalek
13.30 -14.30 Lunch locally. Meet with Nairy Avedissian, Project Manager, Arts, Social & cultural Partnerships Unit, from British Council Egypt who will brief us on BC activities in Egypt
15.00 – 16.30 Meet with Aleya Hamza, curator at Contemporary Image Collective
17.00 -18.00 Meet artist Amal Kenawy in her studio at The Townhouse gallery

19.00-21.00 Reception hosted by Julia Race, Deputy Director, British Council Egypt at her home in Zamalek with invited guests.

DAY 3 / Monday 20 October
9.30-11.30 Meet with Dina Bakhoum from the Aga Khan Trust for Culture for tour of conservation projects in Islamic Cairo
10.30 coffee at the famous Mahfouz Coffee Shop, Khan el Khalili
12.00 – 12.45 Visit the Gayer Anderson House Museum
13.00-14.00 lunch in Al-Azhar park with Dina Bakhoum
14.30 – 15.30 Visit and introduction to the Al Khatoun Gallery
16.15 – 17.30 Meeting with Dr Amr Abdel Kawi, Publisher of Magaz design magazine at their offices in Heliopolis
18.00 -19.00 Meet with artist/jeweller Zeinab Khalifa and visit her studio in Heliopolis
19.00 Meet with artist Khaled Hafez and visit his studio in the Heliopolis/madinet nasr area
20.00 Supper locally in Heliopolis
DAY 4 / Tuesday 21 October
10.30 Visit The Townhouse Gallery and meet William Wells
13.00-14.30 Lunch at Estoril, downtown with a representative from Alexandria Contemporary Arts Forum
15.00 – 16.00 Visit to Karim Francis Gallery, downtown and meet Karim Francis

15.15 – 16.15 Visit Fustat Ceramics Centre, Old Cairo. Meet with representatives of The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts (PSTA), UK
16.30 – 17.30 Meet Dr Ann Shafer from the American University in Cairo at the Fustat Centre

21.00 optional visit to El Ghouri Caravansary for a performance of Al-Tannoura whirling dervishes to live Sufi music
