Career Path
Christine Lawry studied Fashion and Textiles and began her professional career as a dress designer in London and Bristol. She has also lectured on fashion and textiles and created and ran a children’s wear business designing and making children’s clothes for 10 years as well as organising charity fashion shows. In 1997 she became the Chief Executive of Walford Mill Education Trust. Her responsibilities include strategic planning, external liaison and overall directional control. She also researches and develops ideas to provide a rolling programme of exhibitions in the Gallery, including curating National Touring Exhibitions and creating strong educational links with local schools, colleges and universities. Christine is currently curating a Touring Exhibition with Lois Walpole which will tour nationally and internationally. www.walfordmillcrafts.co.uk
