Career Path
David Falkner trained in Fine Art at Chelsea School of Art and has worked as a practicing artist/curator throughout Europe, developing a career curating art, craft and design within UK public-sector venues, first at Bury St Edmunds Art Gallery, Suffolk, and then at the Pump House Gallery, London. Now Director of the Stanley Picker Gallery at Kingston University, he is responsible for generating a broad programme of contemporary visual art and design including the Stanley Picker Fellowships, whose recent recipients include the designers El Ultimo Grito, Shelley Fox, Public Works and Sara Fanelli, artists Mark Beasley, Elizabeth Price and Juneau Projects, and the curator Deborah Smith.
