Career Path
Jennifer Hallam’s chief role is to support fine art and contemporary craft activity across Yorkshire, focusing specifically on the region's gallery infrastructure. She is the lead officer for major capital projects such as new build artist studios in Sheffield and Wakefield and a £26m new gallery in Wakefield. As Deputy Curator of the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Swansea, she devised a year round temporary exhibition programme. She initated/curated exhibitions of fine art and contemporary craft, often in partnership with other galleries/agencies (including Visiting Arts, the European Union and British American Arts Association) many of which toured nationally. She presented a major touring exhibition of tapestries from the Ramses Wissa Wassef Foundation, and was delighted to host a visit by two of the weavers and their interpreter for two weeks, who worked within the gallery alongside the exhibition.
