- Kelda Savage has been Crafts Programme Officer at Manchester Craft & Design Centre since September 2006. She is responsible for programming contemporary exhibitions, events and activities including artist talks, commissions, workshops and interactive interpretation and evaluation.
She previously worked as Exhibitions Officer (Craft) at The City Gallery, Leicester. She has also worked in a freelance capacity with a number of organisations including mima, Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, Saltburn Artists’ Projects, Smile Plastics and on the 11th Ars Ornata Europeana jewellery conference in Manchester 2007. She has also been Crafts Adviser for Arts Council England, East Midlands.
Kelda has a degree in Printed Textiles & Surface Pattern and an MA in Critical Histories of the Visual Image. She has exhibited her paintings and large scale photographs in Italy, Spain, Germany, New York and across the UK, short listed in 2005 for arttextiles 3.
Currently on the national Leadership Unleashed scheme, a Board Member of Hot Bed Press, Salford and was a selector for Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair.
