Career Path
Yasmin Canvin draws on experience gained at four leading contemporary art galleries, before managing a Cultural Diversity Initiative on behalf of the Arts Council, which involved appointing and supporting three Curatorial Fellows and curating an international exhibition for the Norwich Biennial in 2007. She has initiated and managed Professional Development Programmes for artists and curators, events, off-site and touring exhibitions and artist residencies, working with artists at all levels of their career, from Anish Kapoor to recent graduates. Yasmin is currently a Trustee for QUAD, a new centre for art and film in Derby and is on the Editorial Advisory Board for the International Journal of Visual Art and Gallery Education. She has advised the Arts Council, museums, galleries and Local Authorities on cultural diversity and the visual arts, and is a visiting lecturer at Norwich and Loughborough Schools of Art and Design.
