Yvonna Demczynska

History

Career Path: Yvonna Demczynska has over 20 years experience of working in the design and contemporary craft areas both in the UK and internationally. She has worked for the Design Council promoting British designers’ work overseas, mainly in Japan. She has been working for the Crafts Council as a freelance consultant for the last 10 years helping British makers to export through UKTI initiatives in the USA. She founded flow gallery in Notting Hill 10 years ago with the remit of showing both British and international applied artists’ work. She curates 6 exhibitions a year at flow, of which half feature international crafts and tour to other craft venues. She has collaborated with curators from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Belgium and the Netherlands as well as Japan and South Africa to create exhibitions for flow and other galleries. She hopes that the trip to Brazil will culminate in an exhibition for flow. www.flowgallery.co.uk
